Ambassador Ricardo AllicockIt is my honour to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Jamaica in Tokyo, Japan and it is my earnest hope that during my tenure as Ambassador to Japan I may have the opportunity to satisfactorily serve your needs, whether you are a Japanese national seeking to establish ties with, or visit, Jamaica, a Jamaican national residing in Japan or simply have an interest in things Jamaican.

2014 is a particularly significant year for the Mission as it marks the fiftieth anniversary of Diplomatic relations between Jamaican and Japan. Over the course of half a century, both countries have enjoyed increasingly warm and mutually beneficial ties of friendship and cooperation and have, just as readily, supported each other in times of disaster.

As this relationship continues to thrive, Jamaica and Japan still enjoy considerable potential for enhancement of cultural exchange and expansion of linkages in trade and investment. In this regard, this site presents a brief overview of the relations between Jamaica and Japan, as well as links which provide information about our cultural signifiers such as music, dance and cuisine, our history, our economy and trade and investment opportunities. Additionally, there is consular information readily available for the guidance of Jamaican nationals who are resident in Japan as well as for Japanese nationals who wish to travel to Jamaica.

I invite you to visit this site often for the purpose of accessing the abovementioned information and links, as well as keeping abreast of relevant news and announcements of upcoming events and thank you for your interest.

With gratitude,

Ricardo Allicock
